RAVA Films had the immense pleasure of producing several intimate, small scale, studio-based features for Huxley-Parlour. The team visited with artists we know and love and got to meet others whose work we admire. Filmed in spring 2021 with a skeleton crew, these pieces offer a glimpse into our artist-first approach to profiles.

Working in thick impasto, John Copeland’s canvases are imbued with a dynamic, expressionist tone which references the human drive concealed within our everyday experiences. Heavy Reverb features a new series of paintings Copeland worked on over lockdown, in which he abstracts photographs and images taken from magazines, probing the boundaries between abstraction and figuration.
