HUXLEY-PARLOUR | Daniel Gordon

RAVA Films had the immense pleasure of producing several intimate, small scale, studio-based features for Huxley-Parlour. The team visited with artists we know and love and got to meet others whose work we admire. Filmed in spring 2021 with a skeleton crew, these pieces offer a glimpse into our artist-first approach to profiles.

Daniel Gordon introduces his new body of work, a selection of still life photographs that make up his first UK solo exhibition, Green Apples and Boots. The artist explores his own response to technology, and the move towards digital processes within his work. Gordon has made use of the personal objects found throughout his house, constructing colourfully fantastical tableaux that sit between the boundaries of sculpture, photography, and collage. Focussing on the ephemera of domesticity and everyday life, Gordon constructs illusive compositions that are comical, vibrantly coloured, and unobtrusively intimate.
