RAVA's Ava Wiland co-lead filmmaking workshop in Panama
A few weeks ago, RAVA's Ava Wiland co-lead a documentary filmmaking workshop in Panama City, hosted by Estudio Multiuso GECU - Universidad de Panama. Ava and fellow director & producer Hugo Perez guided a group of amazing filmmakers through the process of crafting remarkable documentaries in just five days, creating five short films reflecting on heritage and loss in Panama City's Casco Viejo. The inspiring experience offered both teachers and participants an invaluable opportunity to hear different stories and learn about the ways you can tell them.
This audiovisual workshop was made possible with the support of the US Embassy in Panama and the American Film Showcase (AFS). Funded by the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), the AFS program highlights the value of film in fostering understanding and cooperation, dialogue and debate.
