In our second collaboration with the magnificent National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C., we were invited to produce a spot to celebrate the New Year. Little did we know that we would find ourselves in the middle of another and unprecedented peak in this neverending pandemic. Yet, Inspired by the Spanish poem “Caminante no hay Camino” (Traveler, There is no Road), we wanted to ask ourselves what art can tell us not only about humanity’s history, but what hints and guideposts can it provide for the future.
While there are no certainties in life, or in art, this little piece explores how The National Gallery of Art and the works that grace its storied halls invite us to step into our imagination and envision a more hopeful tomorrow. Especially in these uncertain times, art reminds us that yes, we have lived through difficult times before, yet we can find beauty, love, and togetherness on the path ahead.
