We arrived at Alex Katz’s NYC studio apartment in December last year to shoot a film about Katz’s upcoming exhibition at the Tate St. Ives in July, 2012.  In this short clip, the interview and footage shot on location in his studio, summarizes and celebrates the painter’s prolific career as one of the most important American artists of the twentieth century. The film was shot by RAVA on location in New York, NY with one camera. Additional and archival footage provided by Tate Media.
