“New York Close Up” | Art21

This short-doc was our second collaboration with the Art21 team. In this film, artist Lucas Blalock photographs everyday objects from nearby 99¢ stores in his living room right below the roaring Williamsburg bridge. With three cameras, one recording from the ceiling the process as Blalock arranges his still life objects on colorful backdrops, and two cameras from below that follow his actions as he moves from one setup to the next, Blalock discusses the conditions of his living environment, his relationship with these mundane objects and many more elements about his work.
