Since the 1990s, Berlin has become a haven for artists from all over the world—a free zone where experimentation, individual expression, and international influences converge. During 2017, RAVA had the honor of following four amazing Berlin-based artists for the “Berlin” episode of Art in the Twenty-First Century, Art21's Peabody award-winning series on PBS. From large-scale public projects to intimately personal ones, these four artists – Olafur Eliasson, Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg, Susan Philipsz, and Hiwa K – demonstrate the diversity of art practices, themes and models of artmaking in the German capital. Thanks Art21 for the opportunity direct this episode – we had so much fun making this!
